Roy Cooper Roping 2013

July 4-6 2013

Professional Rodeo has been Roy Cooper’s life for more than 35 years. In 1976 Roy won his first of eight World Titles and has qualified for the National Finals Rodeo 32 times, winning the prestigious NFR average title eight times. Roy became one of only 10 men in ProRodeo to win the prestigious Triple Crown of World Championships in 1983. Roy was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 1979. Roy has won nearly every major Rodeo across the U.S. and Canada.

The rodeo world had no idea what it was in for when Betty Rose and Tuffy Dale Cooper’s first son was born in November of 1955 in Hobbs, NM. Given Tuffy’s love of roping, it was given that, Roy and his brother and sister, would be exposed to it. But exposure doesn’t always evolve into obsession and greatness. Tuffy deserves all the credit for teaching Roy how to rope. Tuffy gave up his roping career for the kids (Roy, sister Betty Gayle, and brother Clay Tom) Betty Rose drove them to most of the junior rodeos. Roy has three children Clint, Clif, & Tuf, and they all make their homes in Decatur, Tx. The boys have all qualified for the National Finals Rodeo.

Let Roy pass on the lessons that he’s learned from Tuffy, Betty Rose, and many others. It’s proven to work, he’s already gotten his three sons to the National Finals. He’ll give you the inside of rodeo from entering, roping, horsemanship, to vet care. Sign up today to take your roping and rodeoing to the next level.
